Colonial farmhouse, Stratton , Magic Bromley Areas

Restored Vermont 1803 Farmhouse

I was silly not to take my cell phone to capture some pictures.   There were a number of people from Striation’s early days who came back to celebrate and reunite with old friends.   This great evening was topped off by a wonderful fireworks display that we watched from the upper deck of the Base Lodge.     While the weather is balmy winter is coming soon – cold weather is predicted for the weekend and the mountain is expected to open in 43 days from today – Oct 10. Jamaica opened it new bridge so traffic is flowing smoothly from Brattleboro to StrattonMountain.     There are some interesting new listings in the area that are worth exploring.    Located in Londonderry, near Magic Mountain is this lovely restored farmhouse on 14 acres.  Most of the mechanicals have been updated in the last 7 years.    Ther are 4 BR, LR w/fp, Dining room, Chef’s kitchen and FR w/ fp.  All done in exceptional taste. Listed for $479,000.

Summer in the Stratton/Bromley Resort Areas

Saturday, May 14th, 2011

Summer is coming to the Stratton Mountain.   After a long cold winter and what seems like the shortest Spring on record ( last week) summer is just around the corner.   We are closing many of the end of ski season deals with 15 closings in the last 60 days and 7 more to go throughout the Stratton Bromley Mountain area.  Sale prices ranged from $100,000 for a camp in Jamaica  to $899,000 for a home in Peru.  these new owners will get to enjoy their new homes here during the wonderful summer months.    Skiers wonder what there is to do when you are not skiing.  Having  recently fractured a rib, I have been walking and find what a pleasure to walk down a country road looking at birds, flowers, etc.   There are many bike routes from easy to challenging.    If finding a local swimming hole rather than a swimming pool there are many to find.    Strattonwald a local area has a private pond with homes for sale that allow you to enjoy its swimming and tennis.   If you enjoy fishing, Orviscan sell you everything you need and they run classes and tours.   Ted here in the office is enjoying getting on his BMW motorcycle and find roads to explore.  Ask him for suggestions if   to ride in Vermont.     Ther are great camps for kids, Stratton is running “Kids Kamp, as well as kids Golf and Tennis camps.  Bromley has its Summer Adventure zone  with rides for all ages.  There are other camps with theater, music  and all sorts of activities through out the area.   There are events to interest everyone all summer and  don’t forget the great dining, theater and music.  Prices are still very low.   A best buy is this Bear Creek Condo    with 3 bedrooms, 3 baths just reduced to $129,000.  Come to Stratton and let us introduce you to all there is here at the Stratton/Bromley resort areas and find a place in Vermont.

We had a great time celebrating.

Pat & Scotty are in Sales &  Seasonal rentals.  Deb is our office manger who holds us all together.    Tara is in Short Term rentals.   Carrie   is in Sales and Seasonal rentals and received the award for the most seasonal rentals this year.

Each year, We honor the top listing and Sales agent for the year.

This year Carol Cantwell received the awards for both.

In the past year, there have been 44 sales in Winhall, 27 in Stratton, 21 in Jamaica.   We have participated in 48 of this sales.    The prices were a wide range from $27,000 for a small camp to $2,311,600 for a home in High Meadow with extra building lots.    We have had a great year and are all looking forward to another strong year for the real estate market at Stratton.

Vermont Ventures Winter and or Summer Home in Winhall VT

Lovely 4 Season Vacation Home in Winhall VT

Spring is here!   The rain has turned the grass green and the daffodils are mostly done while the lilacs are coming out.    I will be putting in my garden in the next week with hardy veggie’s like lettuce, mesclun etc.   The snow on Stratton’s Slopes is mostly gone.   The Stratton Sports Center’s outdoor courts are ready – even the hartru.     The local ladies tennis teams have stratted playing their matches.  So far Betsy’s team has won one match and is looking to win several more (last year a perfect  0-8 result!)

New Listings in the Stratton Area

We are all finishing up a number of closings and getting some new listings here in the Stratton area.   People who are selling are taking this time to look at their properties and see what might be done to make them more appealing.   We try to recommend fluffing up interiors, paint, new quilts, a good clean etc and removal of all the winter dead fall.  Prices are still low and now is a great time to look. One of our favorite new listings is this  Lovely 4 Bedroom Winhal Vermont home seen above.  This was voted a best buy in our staff meeting this morning.

Magic Carpet at Stratton

Spring is coming to Stratton.  The temperatures are warming and the days are definitely getting longer.   Now is a great time to bring the young family out to learn to Ski.  They can start on the Magic Carpet which takes them a short distance up a gentle slope.  Once they have mastered that they can move up to the caterpillar.

Caterpillar Lift at Stratton

If you find that your children are having a great time, then now is a terrific time to look to buy a home or condo.  Condo  and home financing is available and the market in Stratton Homes and Condo Sales has been busy!

According to MLS Statistics, there have been 11 closings and 24 additional pending sales in just the last 3 months and several more are happening now.    Prices in closings have been from $135,000 to $2.2 Million.  Pending sales are from $125,000 to $1,395,000.    This means there is something here for everyone.    There have been some attractive price reductions so people can buy now and enjoy Vermont this summer as well as look forward to next season.   If you want to try the area,  try renting either Stratton short term Rentals or for the Stratton seasonal Rentals.

Black & Blue Bash

Ted and Betsy Cetron of Winhall Real Estate at the bash

The Stratton Foundation Black and Blue Bash was a huge success.  Items auctioned off were fine jewelry, a signed snowboard, Theatre tickets , a villa in France for a week and African safari among other items.    The music had everyone up and it was all for a great cause.   You would not have recognized the Stratton base Lodge.
